Dive Socorro Island, Roca Partida, San Benedicto and "The Boiler"
Manta rays, dolphins, humpback whales, 7 types of sharks and much more
Rocio Del Mar liveaboard invites you to feel the Manta-love and SCUBA dive the Revillagigedo Islands with large pelagic marine animals, such as dolphins, whales, schools of jacks, tuna and a variety of sharks, including Whale sharks, schooling Hammerhead sharks, Tiger sharks, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks and Oceanic White Tip sharks.
In the Pacific Ocean, 250 miles south of Mexico's Baja California, lay the Revillagigedo Archipelago, or Socorro Islands. The archipelago is made of 4 volcanic islands - San Benedicto, Socorro, Roca Partida, and Clarion, with a unique ecosystem. The islands also called "little Galapagos", are home to a variety of endemic animal and plant species and can be dived only on liveaboards. Large pelagics frequent the area due to its open ocean conditions, which can sometimes include substantial swell and currents.
The Giant Manta rays have made the Socorro islands famous. Their friendliness and love of bubbles from SCUBA divers make encounters exceptional and exciting. The cleaning station at "The Boiler" dive site, near San Benedicto island attracts multiple Mantas regularly and that's where most sightings occur.
During the winter, between January and April, Humpback whales can be spotted on their migration. You can hear their song under the water and on rare occasions even see a mother whale with her calf.
The topography under the water is rocky, with boulders and some walls. Not many corals live here, as the water is cooler.
